We are going to take a look back over these couple of weeks just to see what you remember. It isn’t a test for me, but a time for you to just reflect on things from this book.
- Where is the first prophecy of Christ found in Genesis? (see Gen. 1-4 The Grace of God)
- When did the Sabbath day begin? (see Gen. 1-4 The Creation)
- In one word, how would you describe the fall of man? (see Gen. 1-4 The Fall of Man)
- Where do we find Israel at the close of Genesis? (see Gen. 47-50)
- Can you list the four outstanding events in Genesis (See Gen. 1-4, 5-9 – two in each section)
- Can you name the four outstanding persons of Genesis? (see Gen. 12-14, Gen 23-26, Gen 27-29; Gen 37-39)
As you look back over the last few weeks of reading, what have you learned about yourself? Has your time with the scripture felt more important to you? Have you seen how you can understand the word more? Or has there been more struggles and do you feel like you need more help? What is this journey looking like so far?

I have loved reading through Genesis again. I love reading with purpose, not just to check a box off.
Something I have learned about myself this last few weeks is how easy it is to “forget” to do my reading. I get so busy that by the end of the night I am so exhausted I just decide I will do it in the morning. I am getting better at that, and hopefully through this next year I will get past that. I enjoy reading the word so much – I really want to be consistent in it. I want to be even better. I want to see more people love the word and join in on learning to discover what God has for them.
I am blessed that you all are reading, even if your schedule is different than mine, even if you don’t comment. My goal is that you are in the word. That you are learning that God can talk to you as well. My hope is that you are falling in love with spending time with the Lord, and learning to hear His voice as you read.
If you are behind. Don’t lose heart. Just keep pressing on. Do this at the pace you can. I just want to see you fall in love with the Word, with Jesus, not check off boxes or be legalistic about where you are at in the process. Enjoy this – it isn’t a chore. It is an honor to have this ability.

I have learned that even when I am tired, this is important to me. I feel this study has been deeper than any other read-the-biblein-a-year study. I feel like I’m really getting closer to God. Im seeing deeper connections to the word and will continue being thirsty for this living water. Thank you. It has been a blessing.
