Chapters 11-14 find the people moving toward the Promise Land – and after three days they begin to murmur and complain. Even Aaron and Miriam become jealous of their brother, Moses. At Kadesh-barnea they displayed their sinfulness of unbelief. They send twelve spies to search out the land and ten came back with a negative report. Only two, Joshua and Caleb, said, “Let us go up and possess the land.” The crowd would not believe them. Judgment falls in the form of forty years wandering.

What things stuck out to you today about the Israelite’s? What did they continue to do? How does that look for you and your life? What did you learn about God? What can you take away from today’s lesson?
Reflection: Receiving revelation: The practice is a process of opening one’s heart and mind to receive guidance and new understanding from the Holy Spirit.
Let us practice this as we read through Psalm 4 today. As you read through this and pray through the verse, sit and ask the Lord to show you some new understanding or to give you the guidance you need. Be quiet and ready to hear what He is telling you. It will be a sweet time.

What I saw today was how the quickly the Israelites would forget what the Lord did for them. They were so quick to complain and wish they were back in bondage. It is a reminder for us how we can look at things through fleshly perspective and forget what the Lord has done and is doing. If He is moving us, we have to trust Him that He is going to provide for us. We need to ask Him what His plan is, not demand our way or demand He do anything specific.

Maybe this is a good time to bring this up.
We know all babies go to Heaven when they pass. 2 Samuel 12: 22-23 22 David replied, “I fasted and wept while the child was alive, for I said, ‘Perhaps the LORD will be gracious to me and let the child live.’ 23 But why should I fast when he is dead? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him one day, but he cannot return to me.
The only age number I found for age of accountability is in Numbers 14: 28-31: “28 Now tell them this: As surely as I live, declares the LORD, I will do to you the very things I heard you say. 29 You will all drop dead in this wilderness! Because you complained against me, every one of you who is twenty years old or older and was included in the registration will die. 30 You will not enter and occupy the land I swore to give you. The only exceptions will be Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.”
31 “‘You said your children would be carried off as plunder. Well, I will bring them safely into the land, and they will enjoy what you have despised.”
It seems to me Numbers 14 indicates those under age twenty were considered children and were not held accountable for eternity by God for their relationship with him. They were allowed to go to the “promised land” then and “children” today will be allowed to go to “Heaven” now.
